The oceans are about 3 miles deep and the deepest part of the deepest ocean (Pacific) is 7 miles deep in the Challenger Deep, in the Marianas Trench with a depth of 36,200 feet. It was visited in 1953 by Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh.

the deepest sea is in south of mindanao, philippines islands.
probably you would like to know that the sea is divided into 3 layers: 0-600ft called sunlight zone where 90% of specicies live, 600-3000ft called twilight zone, 3000ft-7miles called midnight zone.
