All yourr going to get is a bunch of Kobe lovers here telling you how he is the greates basketball player ever. All he really is, is the most one deminsional player ever. But I don't know how you compare Kobe vs. Shaq. That's like saying which is better an apple or an orange. Just to totally different players.
The easiest way for me to answer this question is if I had the number one pick and had to start a team from scratch, and I could have either Kobe or Shaq in their prime... It wouldn't even be close. SHAQ. I think if I had the choice of any player in their prime to start a team with I would chose SHAQ

They play different positions in Basketball so you really can't compare them on the court. Off the Court it seems like Shaq (this is only a pressumption from stories in the media) that Shaq is the over all better person. He is also very good at what he does for his team.
Kobe on the other hand maybe a cheating jerk but he is the 4th man in history to score more than 50 points in three consecutive games. Also the second in highest # of points of all time in one game.

Kobe is way better. Shaq can't do anything; that's y he got traded. It's all about Kobe. Hands down.

Shaq is better! He changes the nature of the game and has a more outgoing personality. He knows how to be without selling his soul. Shaq was always a team player. Kobe is still learning how to do that.

Your talking about two deferent positions. If there was 20 guys that could guard Shaq in the league, you wouldn't ask this question. He appears to be very good, but there are only 2 guys that could possibly guard him, Yao and D. Howard. Kobe has all the numbers, - one ring, and he has lots of good defenders on him when he breaks all those NBA and Lakers records. Kobe is not only better then Shaq, he is possibly the best to ever play the game of basketball!!!!

James Worthy said last night after the Memphis game that Michael Jackson (they are friends, North Carolina) has said the Kobe can do things he never could. Hmmm I think Michael is pretty good judge of basketball talent. I think the dislike/hatred for Kobe is because of a general dislike for the Lakers with all their winning over the years.
