I really want to try out for this play so it would be helpful if anyone that might have tips on acting, Helena, Hermia, or Titania could give them to me.

Helena is short. Hermia is tall. Seriously; those are the "given circumstances" of the text. So, depending on your stature, you're probably better suited to one or the other.

Hermia: in love with Lysander. Her father favors Demetrius as a prospective son-in-law, and threatens to have Hermia put to death if she doesn't go along with his decision. That's why she and Lysander sneak out of Athens together.

Helena: In love with Demetrius, who used to like her, but now likes Hermia better. Helena has a comedic "poor me" attitude about her. She has the line: "I am as ugly as a bear," but she is usually played by a relatively attractive actress. She just has a little bit of a self-image problem, probably because Demetrius isn't paying any attention to her lately.

Titania: Queen of the Fairies. Super-tough lady. When the play begins, she's in a fight with her lover, Oberon. One of Titania's mortal attendants died in childbirth, and Oberon wants the child. Titania, out of respect for the dead woman, refuses to give up the boy, which is driving Oberon nuts. Titania has tremendous resolve, and, at the same time, she is definitely the more mature of the two Fairy Lords, offering Oberon all sorts of chances to reconcile their quarrel.

Whoa, my school is doing A Midsummer Night's Dream right now too. I'm playing Hermia.

Anyways, all I did was I knew my stuff, and didn't hold back one bit. You just have to be out there, and don't be shy!! Be cheerful, and just know your stuff.
Good Luck!

overact almost--melodrama, be very articulate and poised, and know what your saying. that's the only way that you can interpret it well.
