personal experience in what I say but all beardies have their own personalities. I have 3 beardies 2 males and one female. they all basically get along except in the spring during march mostly. then both males want to breed. my males developed a dominance and sub dominant roles. it took about 30 minutes and they never made contact they both head bobbed ran around like crazy beards black as coal and then cloud the smaller one began arm waving and head floating. well that was solved Benny was happy and now they get along. Benny every now and then begins head bobbing so hard it looks like he is riding a bull, arm coming off the floor and David the girl and cloud the sub male. both arm wave and head float and all is well in beardie kingdom. if you do not want them to mate your best bet is two females. if you ever go into a pet store and see 2 beardies in the same tank as I often have I have never seen limbs torn off or some of the other horror stories i have seen here on Yahoo. but I would bet they have been buddies since birth.

DO NOT PUT 2 MALES IN A CAGE TOGETHER!
♥Unless you want babies, your best bet is to put 2 females in a cage together. If you put 2 males together, they will fight over who's "King Of The Cage" and end up killing each other. Be sure that it is POSITIVE that they are 2 females. Some herpetologists can be wrong. Try to find a few different herpetologists so they can share what they think the gender is. If someone says that their gender is different than what you wanted, you may have a problem!♥

No matter what the sex, there is always the chance that they will fight as they reach adulthood. Even two females will get into it with eachother. You can try two females; and keep an extra tank in case. Two females is the least chance of injury; but always keep in mind that they may fight.
For great beardie info; check out www.beardeddragon.org They have great discussion forums and lots of good caresheets.

You cant put 2 males together. I would not get a male and female unless you want to deal with alot more lizards. I would get 2 females that already live together.

its better if you get male/female because having the same sex is dangerous when they get older they can hurt each other or maybe kill each other but bearded dragons a good lizards to have because you really don't have to tame them and there smaller unlike iguanas but they eat weired stuff like crickets and meal worms

if the babies are together in the store they will be fine to put together even if u buy them seperate. we did this with ours and they were fine they got along great. its always best to put two animals together when they are younger because they will have a stronger bond as they grow up and they wont try to attack each other. i hope this helps.
