Check out the link below. It has everything you really want to know about gestational diabetes.
STRESS Doesn't help make you or your baby better. While gestational diabetes is a cause for concern, the good news is that you and your health care team - your doctor, obstetrician, nurse educator, and dietitian - work together to lower your high blood glucose levels. And with this help, you can turn your concern into a healthy pregnancy for you, and a healthy start for your baby.

Yes that is high. Mine was 145 and I had to do the 3 hour test. Those came back too high and now I have gestational diabetes. If you are diagnosed with gestational diabetes they will have you watch your carb and sugar intake and test your blood. It will clear up once the baby comes. If you don't control it then it will cause harm to you and the baby. But if you control it it wont. Don't stress, that causes harm to your baby. I have done the 3 hour test in my last 3 pregnancies (including this one) but only 1 time has it come back positive. No need to stress yet. Good luck

No, it's not extremely high, but higher than normal. But it is fairly common for women to fail the 1 hour test and pass the second one, so I wouldn't stress out about it too much. Watching your sugar intake and getting some light exercise could help, but if you do end up with GD, don't worry too much about it. Lot's of women get it, and as long as you follow all of your doctor's instructions and take care of yourself, you and your baby will be fine.

I didn't get it, but my number was high enough with the second child that my doctor put me on an 1800 calories per day diet to ensure that I didn't get it. I was allowed to eat anything I wanted as long as I stayed below 1800 calories.
Stay away from sugars and junk foods for sure, but you need carbs for your baby - just eat only whole grain ones. After the next testing, the doctor will most likely give you a diet to go on like mine did.

This happened to me with my last child and it ended just being off because I hadn't had enough to eat and drink that day so it very may well be nothing at all, but if it turns out you do have G.D. don't worry with a proper diet all should be fine and as soon as you deliver you will be cured so to speak... It is pretty common in pregnancies and the doctors aren't quite sure why but your Dr. will make sure you and your baby are fine.. so don't worry

my aunt has this.Shes on a special diet and test her blood 3 times a day. the doctor limited her exercise. But with gestational diabetes it goes away after you give birth most of the time.
