i tried looking the song up on the computer but couldn't really narrow it down.they said there was a lot of artists who recorded the song.i really like this song.....HELP!!!!!!!!

I think Chuck Berry was the first to do it. I believe he wrote it also. Don't know when it was released.

If you are talking about the song (Memphis), by Johnny Rivers, it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 1964.
1st. verse( Long distance operator, give me Memphis Tennessee, Help me find the party get in touch with my Marie-I do not Know the number, but I know the place to call, cause my uncle took a messasge and he wrote it on the wall.
