Punch a hole in the bottom.

Man I was just kidding here but what ever you do DO NOT use anything like a vacuum cleaner, defective or not. If anyone else has done that successfully they were just lucky. Gasoline is dangerous to the max and the best thing you could do is take it to a professional. Unfortuneately, there is no way to siphon the gas out using a fuel line as it will not bypass the pump. I assume the pump is defective. More than likely, there is a check ball in the fill neck so you can't get a hose down there to siphon it that way but you may be able to get the connector hose loose from the fill neck to the tank and get a hose in to siphon it that way. On the GMs we usually have to raise the vehicle up on the hoist and use a transmission jack to lower the tank down. This is dangerous - the shop down the street burned up when a tank got away from them and fell on a shop light. If the pump is ok and you just need to drain out bad fuel, there is a way to bypass the fuel relay under the hood and use the pump to drain the tank. If I was replacing the tank though, I would punch a hole in the bottom. Some Chrysler products actually put a handy drain plug in the tank. Gas is so dangerous there should be a federal mandate for a common fitting on all fuel tanks so they can be drained with an approved fuel caddy. The best advice is if you can't afford to take it to a professional, at least have someone knowledgable and competent give you some assistance.

Oh, by the way, GASOLINE IS DANGEROUS!
