to be more open minded, first you have to be closed minded, in that i mean ,,, when you read something,, stop that 1st thought, trap it under a glass like a scurrying spider and analyse it,,, why did i think that,?, is there a common thread,? am i just repeating something someone else has said,? do i really think that.or am i the product of my upbringing?.. question your own motives for thinking those thoughts, and then perhaps we will be more open minded and less judgemental over others..

I think that when people answer questions they need to be given criticism which is often structured and informative, but some people take to far and are just out to be nasty.
Personally to have an open mind, people need to understand the question which is asked, give their point of view if necessary, give constructive criticism and try to take in the views of others. I think that even if you read something that is written and you don't agree with the comment 100%, as long as the answer help you in some way, it might help to understand the question more.
Also just to add, a little bit of tolerance would go a long away.

I admit it is difficult to be non - judgemental with both questions and answers - therefore, one has to use integrity and apply open mindedness where applicable. All you can do is spread you philosophy and correctness where you think it is needed. More so on the Internet because we just don't know who as in gender age etc., we are speaking to - that is one of the major downfalls of the net and why so many bad issues are brought about - that's me trying to be open minded anyways.

I think the only thing that can help is knowledge. The more you know the more your mind opens up. And of course the will to be so.

Your attitude in your question is open-minded. Being openminded is looking at both sides. I try to do this in R & S & also Politics although one tends to have set opinions there but somehow have had few violations there & in R & S

Try not to make the question or answer personal, and also try to look at things from a different point of view.

I think sometimes the words open minded are used as a tool to manipulate people into ones own way of thinking because we want recognition and agreement for our own opinions.
I may change my mind though.

Just to be aware that others can have different opinions on any given issue . There will always be different beliefs on everything because of how many different religions and cultures there are.
Those stupid thumbs are annoying , but what can you do about it??
