speed sensor and tansmission solenoid have been replaced on earlier visits to the garage. Am I wsting my time with this mechanic or would I be better off taking it to a dealership.

With the 2nd Gen LH cars, all that code means is there is a code in the tranny controller. Every module in the car can store codes but they don't transfer between modules. So the TCM is just telling your PCM that is has a problem. The TCM doesn't actually tell the PCM what the code is. You need a scanner to get the actual code.

check input and output sensor and plugs. one is on top or side of the trans housing the other is the speedo
