im due very soon with my first baby and just need to buy baby bottles now, ive decided to get the avent ones but not sure which size i should get. if i get the 125ml sizes i know theyre not likely to last as long as the 260ml and im on a tight budget so would it be worth getting a few 260ml instead? is 4 enough? any advice will be appreciated xxx

Thanks everyone, im just going to stick to the bigger ones for now. Found a set of four for £15 sounds a bit expensive but will have to do, will probably get two packs. Found some similar ones for much cheaper but they're Mothercare's own brand not sure if theyre any good?

if your on a tight budget then just get the bigger bottles (the 8 OZers) because you can make 4 ounces in them just as easy as 8 when the baby is bigger!!! Stretch that penny!!! (i know the feeling..haha im in the same position as you in this area! I went for the bigger bottles). I personally bought 15 bottles but thats up to you and how much you want to spend! Its going to be hard getting through a day having to make a new bottle everytime the baby gets hungry when you could already have some made and ready in the fridge. Its up to you..but the more the better in my opinion.

I used Avent bottles with both my babies and they are really great. I recommend the smaller ones because once your baby starts holding his/her own bottle the size and shape of this bottle make it a LOT more convenient. Also, when a baby is born they typically only eat a couple ounces at a time. It will be a long while before your baby can down an 8ouncer so a larger bottle is really unnecessary.
Good luck and congrats!

Get the bigger ones, just don't fill them all the way up. A new born only drinks a few ounces at a time. If you are just bottle feeding (no breast) you are going to need way more than four bottles unless you want to spend your day making bottles. I would suggest about 10 that way you have enough for the day and if you don't use them all in a day you have some ready for the next day and you don't have to rush to get bottles made. Plus your baby may be extra thirsty one day.

With a newborn you start out with the smaller ones. If you are bottle feeding only 4 will not be enough. You need at least 6-8 so you can make them up a head a time.......so you don't have a screaming baby waiting for a bottle.

Don't get caught up in the "named" brand buying i had advent, some maws and boots own and a Morrison's own and do you know what they all worked the same my daughter didn't have any preference just as long as she was getting her milk, so if the pennies don't allow then go for a home brand like mothercare they should be fine, and congrats on your pregnancy and good luck with the birth and wonderful experiences children bring.

You'll need more than four. At least 8. Think about it, a newborn eats quite frequently. Those bottles will need to be washed. Sometimes you won't get to wash right away and you'll be pretty short on bottles when you need them. Hopefully your baby likes the advent, they may not. We found the playtex drop ins worked best because there was less cleaning involved (had twins so any shortcut helped). Plus the nipple was more like a breast. Best of luck.

Whatever you do don't buy too many bottles maybe two of one kind and if the baby doesn't like them you can also buy two other ones and so on. My cousin went thru 4 different bottles until the baby liked one! I am currently 34 weeks and haven't bought any yet for that same reason!

depends on if your breastfeeding w/ partial supplementing or full on bottle feeding....if your are bottle feeding full time then get at least 8-10 bottles(enough for a full day)....if your are only partial then get 4. I always recommend getting the bigger bottles because they last the whole time they will be bottle feeding and all you have to do is get new nipples for the amount of flow you need. Good luck.

Those should be fine, but also not all babies will take to a certain kind of bottle so you might want to buy a couple of different brands and see what the baby likes the best

I never bothered with the little ones. They are not worth it to me because they move up to drinking more than the little ones hold too fast. If money is an issue, I certainly would not waste the dough on them. With the big ones, you can just fill them with however many ounces you need and add more as the baby requires it.
