Seeing that liberal northeastern yankee Democrats and southern conservative confederate flag waving Republicans can't get along?

The last time we were this split along regional lines, we had a civil war.

By the way, I know the RADICAL NORTHEASTERN (not southern conservative) Republicans freed the slaves. I'm just making the point, that the parties have now reversed. The process began with Strom Thurmond's State Rights conservative Dixiecrat Party in 1948 and conservative Republican Barry Goldwater taking of the South in 1964.

If this occurred, it wouldn't be just the northeast which would split off. The entire west coast and part of the northern tier of states would probably joint them. By the way, if this actually occurred, they would also take most of the intellectual heavyweight of the country with them. The preponderance of all of the Ivy League colleges and universities are located in those states.

The Republican side would profitable and the communist side would be much like Russia. The R side would have a military the left side would have pot farms. The left side would not be able to run an economy and the rights would hum.

The left would start to starve and think it was OK to steal from the right. The right would arrest these thieves. The left would come to protest their brother being imprisoned for stealing. More would be arrested because they were hungry and had no job skill or hunting skills. The right President would send a delegation to the Lefts side asking to control his foreign nationals in his country.

That would happen several times,

Finally war is declared and the right occupies the left side bringing food, medicine, clothing and rehab for the left side. Law is re-established on the lefts land. And then the left would very slowly say over a 50 year period earn but their right to be US citizens and vote.

And what would you recommend that northern Republicans and Southern Democrats do? Look at any political maps? The Dem/Rep line is as much city/rural as it is N/S or E/W.

Sure, we have differing views of how to go about things, but we are all Americans and all want what is best for our country.

This is the UNITED States. We're all together, bottom line.

This question is inane and stereotypical.

Bill & Hillary Clinton are from Arkansas.

Al Gore is from Tennessee.

The U.S. will not "split up", this is not the 19th century. And don't forget that there are other states besides the north and southeast.

EDIT: Just for the record - after 19 responses, mine is in the top 3. And I am a born and raised multiple generation red-stater.

If you hate each other so much you can't stand sharing a country, then I suppose. But I think most people's loyalties are to America first and their party second.

That said, the northeastern states could join Canada and the southern states could rename themselves Jesusland and it'd be just like that map.

The only thing wrong is the govt not abiding by the Constitution. This IS still a nation 'of the people BY the people and FOR the PEOPLE'. Refusing to protect the borders, for whatever big interest, is letting down US and our safety. Do you know terrorists are paying the MS-13(or 15) in Mex 25000-30000 dollars to help them cross here. If only they knew how easy it was. There are training camps all over the world even in US-Latino Militia, training for what?

No way...We stand together and we stand strong. It worry me, that you would ask such a question..

The Civil war proved to be a mistake and it would be a bigger mistake to split up now..

I think us Americans should stand tall and tell are leaders what we want...

I love the south, I love the North..I plain out love this country. all of it..

God Bless the Greatest nation ever. The United States of America, all 50 states...

Conservatives still laud the individual, while liberals hope for a collective.

Sorry, Iltrix, but the California is not in the northeast. Should I buy you a map?

Well, it's not like we need another civil war just now. It would turn out the same - the North has the weapons and more of an infrastructure.

I think the red states need the blue states more than the blue needs them. The Blue states produce more money and goods (CA grows most of our food for ex) and the red states recieve more tax money than they pay in. Go Blue!

I would be willing to let Dumbya go to a seceded
de-nuclearized TX, to be renamed Dumbyaland, so that he can be dictator for life there and have ALL his Dumbyabots go there with him. Of course I would let any patriotic Americans who didn't want to live under dictatorship immigrate to the new USA. I'm not sure whether I'm joking or not.
