The Exorcist . It creeped me out for decades!I made the mistake of watching it ,uncut,alone in the dark. The fear it instilled upon my 11 year old mind at that time convinced me that evil was after me! I swear that I was approached and assaulted ,one dark night,by an unseen demon determined to possess me. I fought the demon and it lost but,it's essence and memory still haunt me. I use my victory,over it,to quell those early memories.

I have been labeled by professionals as PTSD twice. So I will tell you diagnosis is a bit more than just what you have set out here, they go by lots of things and may also used diagnostic instruments (questionnaires) to assist. What is telling is that "it is like you are physically there". Are you the age you were at the time of the incident? Do you experience the same things, fear, pain, fright etc as you did then? Because that is my lot, I live it exactly as I was at the time of the various incidents, be that experiencing as a 5yo or 14yo etc. Other indicators are fear and panic and always being alert, ready to flee to survive. You don't give your age, but if you are a minor and your dad is abusing you in anyway, physically or emotionally then get out of there now. Go to the police and tell them what is happening. Other than that seek a formal medical opinion, there are consequences in living with PTSD Be safe, be sage

The Exorcism Of Emily Rose because I was raised Catholic and I believe in that phenomenon. Scared the bejesus out of me. I think I recited the Lord's Prayer that night in bed until I passed out from exhaustion.

The Exorcist when it first came out. I had read the book, too, and I read it right through without sleeping, because it was so disturbing.
