So that's kind of Hendrix versus Clapton and Bruce. Hard... I'd have to say Hendrix. He revolutionized music and the things that he did with a guitar were amazing. Clapton said that Hendrix could make the guitar do things that he didn't even know how to do. Hendrix is a god in the guitar world. Clapton was FANTASTIC in Cream, but he hadn't reached the godly status yet. hehe

Well....in a band vs band context, Cream wins. Their music was excellent and they sounded brilliant together.
On an individual basis though, Hendrix beats Clapton, but not by very much.
The reason I put Cream above the JHE was that Hendrix chose a particularly awful drummer, which makes it hard for me to fully enjoy the music. So, again, in a band vs band context, Cream wins.

Very good question. Two giants of the late 60s. Both truly great.
Talentwise: Cream, who got more out their vocals and bass player.
Albumwise: The Experience, who lasted a little longer.
Both ended up being projects for their guitar players.
