Heart was once a super group who sold over 20 million albums. The Ramones are a east coast band that never made it big.

The Hall is a very New York thing. Yes and ELP are not in there either. Some bands just get shafted by these people.

They are sorely overlooked. Its sad because they are amazing even today. I am sure that they will be but I can name 20 bands that very well should be there but aren't yet. We just need to be patient and wait.
The Ramones were pioneers and paved the way for much of the stuff we hear today. The Hall of Fame is not a popularity contest, its about innovators and pioneers. The Ramones are considered the first Punk Rock Band by many and maybe that's why they got in before Heart.
Heart will get thier due and being pioneers of women in rock.

Heart was a super group yes, but they werent influential in the way that Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, The Ramones and others were. They didnt influence later music on such a huge scale.
The Ramones influenced the entire punk music scene, both in New York, across the US, across the Atlantic Ocean to England, etc.
Heart has had no such influence.

Because the Ramones have influenced any genre of rock band since they came out. Heart never did anything revolutionairy to make it to the same level as say Black Sabbath, The Ramones, or The Clash.

Well they could have been on the list, but they only induct a certain amount every year and they are voted in.

Unfortunately, I think the gender thing is in the equation somewhere. They TOTALLY deserve to be in it. I think they'll eventually get in though.
