Arrogant can be any person no matter where he/ she is born.

Most Greeks are very polite. Maybe, they're more friendly than they should. Greeks can be easily understood from other Mediterraneans (even Turks if they are not narrow minded) coz their mentality is close.
Greeks speak loud, because they want to share their worries, things that make them happy with others. They are very sociable. They like dancing, singing, laughing, crying. They like life.

From ancient times Greeks were like that. In Agora, great Greek philosophers were gathering and they were talking about important issues of humanity. They disagreed, they argued, but as you know their arguments gave us democracy, philosophy, theater, Olympic Games and many many others.

By the way, in every nation there always be arrogant people.
We should not judge whether people are arrogant or not by the nation. It is the personality of that person.

We should be proud of our history, and we are. But to tell the truth, we are quite arrogant too. I know I am. We always think we are right and know everything. Not in terms of national pride or history, but even in every day life. Pehaps it is not just Greeks though, perhaps humans are like that! And on Y!Answers you can find many people like this, because many answer out of the firm belief that they know it all and their answers are a panacea! (I am one of them, I am afraid).

I've never heard that. In fact Greeks are the only people that do not have a negative connotation associated with them - or none I can think of. (words like wops, kikes, spics, the n-word, greasers, micks, chinks, dot head, etc. No offence to anyone, just trying to make a point)

they are not arrogant, they are just not shy... they talk loud they joke, they talk to everyone, they are just different than most of us. I think they are great people. Always had fun with George when he owned his restaurant, everyone would go for dinner just for the entertainment! lol And of course great food.
