My brother Jake baked a snake cake ,

and he used a rake that was by the lake,

while no one was awake!

He started crying, and Dad said,

"For Goodness sakes, my son Jake

just baked a snake in a cake

and he used a rake!"

This is not fake.

"Jake? Come back!"

Pancakes for breakfast.

ASSONANCE
by Nandlal K. Pancholi

Shy I, with earth, share mirth
Muse over goodwill's dearth
Meaning sinning find in few
Due to high IQ, I find you in long queue
Bird herd shepherd owl eerie
make night dreary
Lone lamppost
Tree big bloom bird host
Hello shallow call wall view
On frond shine morn dew
Haunt horizon for hauteur hue
Choir quiet note solace seek
Lambs cute sit mute meek
Jungle roar in lion den loud
Burn bright sky sans moon cold cloud

Assonance in Poetry.

In poetry, too, assonance stresses words and moods.

And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride.

OF what I write from myself—As if that were not the resumé;
Of Histories—As if such, however complete, were not less complete than the preceding
poems;
As if those shreds, the records of nations, could possibly be as lasting as the preceding
poems;
As if here were not the amount of all nations, and of all the lives of heroes.

Slow things are beautiful:
The closing of the day,
The pause of the wave
That curves downward to spray.

Assonance works better in Romance languages than in English because it is based on vowels, not consonants.

This is a pretty good explanation from the second source I have noted below: Assonance The relatively close juxtaposition of the same or similar vowel sounds, but with different end consonants in a line or passage, thus a vowel rhyme, as in the words, "same day." Assonance does not occur simply by having the same vowel spelling, eg. lost and most.
