No, nor should we really expect it of them. To thine own self be true.......
Think about it, when you were growing up, during your youth and early adulthood did you ever think about what your future career would be and how your current actions would affect it?
How many of you have tried pot (or done even other drugs), got so drunk you didn't know who you are, recieved speeding tickets, cheated on a boy/girlfriend, taken items from your place of work (beyond pens), been lax about practicing your religion, told racial jokes, called someone a racial name, etc? Look in the mirror and if you are perfect, you may judge.
I really don't care too much about past indescretions, but they must honestly be owned up to. They may bug that the person would do it but as long as he or she does their job as President with esteem, I'm okay. A few items such as anti-military action (Clinton, Kerry), pedaphilia, criminal acts, etc would nix that candidate for me.
If we all consider ourselves, we all have at least one or more things we would not disclosed to the public. The most important factor to me is their political record and will they be able to handle international relations.

Contradiction of terms.....A politician with experience is bound to have a shady past, while a politician with no shady past can't possibly have any experience

Probably not, but try not to be swayed by unimportant stuff.
They try to confuse you by saying "so and so cheated on his wife". Right, no one else has ever done that. Look at what's important, like does he have a good record and good experience. Who cares about personal BS, it's the job he/she does that counts!!!!

Compared with our current President, every Republican and Democratic candidate has more experience and a far less shady past. Plus, a THREE digit IQ!

Who doesn't have something in their past that they might regret. I don't think someone should look at one's past unless their past is perfect. We should look at what the person has to offer, and how that person has been doing recently.
