Why does the dampness hurt my husband and I, we're Seniors?

The rain, the cold really shuts us down. Just don't know why. thank u

You likely have arthritis, osteoarthritis. Damp, wet climate is really bad for arthritis sufferers, that is why you see so many "snowbirds", they take off to Arizona, or California during the fall and winter when the weather in the upper states is cold, wet, snowy. They return to their home state, in the spring, summer when the weather is more bearable. I have arthritis but I'm not a snowbird, I can't afford that lifestyle, so I pretty much suffer with it
