I kind of agree with the statement to an extent. White's and Black's where all involved in the slave trade. For Example the Europeans traded guns and alcohol with the Africans in exchange for people and gold (which is never really mentioned, but I think is important to bring up). Although a few people became rich off the slave trade, economy's of countries (such as America and Europe) grew as a consequence of the slave trade, which I think people should also take into account.

The attitudes that people had of Blacks were that they were treated as property and beasts without brains, and although the slave trade ended, some of these attitudes are still carried on though today! But I think the marking of 200 years since the end of slavery in Britain, marks a time of reflection and forgiveness.

I think that these events should be remembered. It is important to remember the past, so that these terrible things are not repeated ever again on an enormous scale. That's why we should remember thing like the slave trade the events of the Holocaust, the genocide in Rwanda etc.

Just how are we suffering for Slavery? You'll have to explain that one a little better.

If someone is a victim of REAL ACTUAL SLAVERY IN THE WORLD TODAY that needs to be addressed of course, to make a severe understatement.

Otherwise, life isn't fair, we don't all start with the same things. Make the best of what you have and get over it.

They didn't do anything wrong either, why should they suffer, besides looking around at blacks today I am sure they would want a refund, I know I would have picked my own cotton if I knew this is how it would turn out.

You sound like Robin Hood! Except I hope you realize not all rich folks are evil. Many are upright because they took a stand for righteousness; took a risk financially; worked hard to provide for their families; and contribute greatly and positively to society financially along with the jobs they offer.
