I heard use a whole chicken, rice and boiled eggs. I was going through the comment section of a USA Today article regarding the wet pet food recall.

You could always just wet down dry food with kitten milk replacer, gravy, or water. Basically it is the same thing, and you know your cat will be getting all of their nutrients. If you make your own from just one type of meat (or even several- it is hard to make a balanced diet) you could actually end up harming your cat.

Get the cheapest cut of meat you can and cook it and cut it up for kitty. Maybe get some chicken broth or chicken gravy to give it that gooeyness.
