Yes. But, most likely not in the sense that you are thinking. Currently, in this plane of existence (I am fairly certain, but there are usually exceptions, and my sources are also of questionable reliability), the only vampires that exist feed on the energy of other beings and are beings made of energy themselves. The dark vampires attach themselves to a person (sometimes a place or thing) and will them to act in ways which would produce negative energy, which they feed off of. There is also a type of vampire which does this with positive energy, but I do not know what they are called (I just call them light or white vampires). There are also love vampires, but these are not really dependent on other beings. They basically just exchange love energy because of the mutual good felling which this exchange creates. There is a long history behind them, which goes far into teh past (even before this earth existed). At some time, I think something close to the common perception of vampires did exist, but I am unsure of this. Also, currently, there are supposedly vampires which have taken over physical forms, but I have not come across any of theses, and therefore do not know there intent.
Much of this information may be incorrect (again because of the entities which this information has come from), but it is the knowledge closest to the truth which i currently possess.
There are also those people that are psychotic or something and think they are vampires. But, they are just people who get blood and drink it. They are kind of freaky to be by though (the only place i have come across them is the French Quarter).

I saw a documentary on vampires on the history channel. Basically what it boiled down to was the superstition of the people in the old days. There were a few accounts of so called 'vampires' but were never proven to be so. They'd dig up someone that hadn't been dead long and they'd have red liquid in their mouth, longer hair, nails, and they appeared to be fatter as if they'd just eaten. The liquid around their mouth were from escaping gases mixed with fluids which happens naturally when you die. The grown hair and nails were from the deterioration of the sking where it would become more thin and pull back to makes the hair and nails appear as if they'd grown. The corpse was bloated and appeared to be full, another natural occurence after one dies.

It's a medical thing having to do with actually consuming blood cells.

Your skin and body ages at an accelerated rate and the blood cells slow it down or something like that.
It's not the mythological vampire, but it is known as a vampires disease.

I forgot the correct medical term for it.

I believe they are very real. Although I don't believe that they are like most story books and movies tend to make them out to be. I think there are energy vampiers, in the aspect they steal energy from someone/thing else (ever been real hyper in a public place then all of a sudden just feel drained?). Also the "vampiers" in high school... the ones who feel they need to take all your pride in yourself and make you feel bad. Thats kind of my thoughts on the subject. Hope it helps. (c:

I don't believe they are real. There are sick people who, due to mental illness, think they want to drink blood but it's not an actual physical need like the vampires are portrayed in books and movies.

No vampires aren't real, unless you count people who sponge off of others. Or a relationship that sucks the life out of you, LOL.

There are people who call themselves vampires and have adopted a lifestyle to support that identification. However, they are not supernatural creatures, unfortunately, though many will go to absurd lengths to defend their claim to be such, in order to maintain the fiction.

Yes-they are real. Don't believe all the Hollywood stuff though. It's exaggerated greatly.

their is an actual disease that depletes the body of blood, making the victim need fresh blood, they just don't have to kill to get it, and it's not actually a thirst for it.
so sorry, aside from books, vampires don't exist.
