Before you do, read the following arguments. All innapropriate answers will be flagged.

While steroids are and were illegal, they were not against MLB rules until 2004, and therefore any steroids Bonds or any other MLB player used should not be counted against him. Would you like it if you were arrested at age 34 for that time you endulged in underage drinking at your best friend's high school graduation party? Barry Bonds' single season Home Run record is completely legal by MLB's own standards, and therefore is 100% legitimate. Even if because of that single record, he should be in the HOF.

Also, to single Barry Bonds out to send a message is borderline discrimination against anyone who would have success in a sport. According to most recent rumors, there are certainly hundreds, if not thousands, of players who have used Steroids in the MLB and who knows how many in other sport franchises and, if anything, Bonds was on a level playing field.

For those not familiar with the English language, shouldn't is future perfect, so thusly I wasn't talking about now.

Moral character IS a legitimate reason, however guys like Babe Ruth, Joe Dimaggio and Roger Maris weren't exactly stand up guys outside of baseball either.

Barry Bonds never cheated. You can't cheat if you're not breaking any rules. Should it be found that he took roids after 2004, then I do think his career numbers shouldn't be recognized.

Illegal in the US huh? Yes, that's true. You know what else is? Drunk driving. You going to say Tony LaRussa shouldn't be in the HOF when he's retired either?

Cal Ripken Jr. never played for a World Champion, either, he'll be in. World Championships aren't a requisite for the Hall of Fame.

The evidence that Bonds DID use Steroids is overwhelming.

Use of steroids allowed him to gain an UNFAIR advantage.

I don't care if other players did it too, if they did, THEY should not be in the hall-of-fame either.

We are talking about the HALL OF FAME here. This institution (unlike other sports such as Football) DOES have a requirement that players met certain standards of conduct. Pete Rose and Joe Jackson for instance, are not in, and McGwire may never get there either.

Bonds, unlike Ruth, Mantle, Musial, DiMaggio, Mays, Aaron, NEVER played for a World Champion. Not a ONE. (Not surprising because he played for Barry Bonds, not his team).

There you have it. FIVE reasons.

It’s funny that you actually said that steroids are illegal in the USA, the fact that baseball didn’t start doing anything until after the fact shouldn’t be a factor. They are illegal there isn't a rule in baseball about molesting small children but everyone in baseball know you don't do it. See rule five states Voting — Voting shall be based upon the player's record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played. So with him using steroids he destroyed the integrity of the game, he also showed no sportsmanship in using them and as everyone knows Bonds has no character. So by the rule Barry Bonds and anyone that used Steroids should not be allow in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

the actuality of the priority is Bonds is a HOFer. So is McGwire. i'm prepared on Bonds. I certainly have been on account that 1987, his first finished season in Pittsburgh. I hated the Pirates for re-signing Van Slyke, and not Bonds. If all and sundry is harmless until eventually shown to blame, then permit's look ahead to evidence. by ability of ways, if unlawful drugs have been unlawful in baseball, there would possibly no longer have been too many gamers interior the 70s, seeing as how cocaine and amphetamine use have been easy then. additionally, Paul Molitor, a HOFer, admittedly used cocaine for the time of his playing days. Why is there no vast push to get him banned?

And then there's the court of public opinion, the court shaped by the very individuals who are eligible to cast HOF ballots. These are the very people who have seen what's going on, up close and personal, or as up close and personal as Bonds has ever, EVER allowed. He has won no friends in those ranks and has instead spent the whole of his career cultivating enemies in and of the press.

Add that to the way that he's put up these so-called numbers (and if you take off those orange and black-coloured glasses, you'll be far better able to actually see how he's done that), and it will more than obvious to you that he will never, ever be elected to the HOF.

I have read your arguments, and they don't wash. They wouldn't wash even if the HOF was about nothing but records.

Since you're flagging "inappropriate answers", you should start by flagging the inappropriate question.

All these ppl keep saying he cheated, he cheated, he cheated, but how can u cheat @ something that wasn't in the rules? Steroids WERE NOT illegal in baseball so how does that make him a cheater, and what about all the other big name players who've taken them too, how come ppl aren't attacking them as much as Barry, even if he did take them steroids does not improve eye, to bat, to ball coordination, that's skill, not an enhancement

He 100% deserves to be in the Hall of Fame

With that arguement you'd have to prove that every single player in the MLB was on steroids. Which evidence it proving would be more like 15. Underage drinking doesn't tarnish the integrity of your profession. He sh!t on the game and the HOF has no place for him. He's a disgrace and all of his HRs should be wiped out.

They have not "singled" him out as McGwire was not close to being elected this year, so the trend has started.
He does not deserve to go in because his hat size grew 5 sizes, and your head just does not grow, unless you use HGH, which he ADMITTED doing, saying he thought it was flax seed oil.
He is a cheat, no one voted for Big Mac, no one will vote for him. Plus, he is a miserable human being.

all u have to do is look at bonds when he was on the pirates, skinny about 180-190 and now look at him 228 pounds, than much weight gain doesnt come from eating and your playing baseball everyday, you wouldnt gain weight, this would raise questions in many smart people's eyes

There isn't one.. Barry Bonds is probably the GREATEST left fielder to ever play the game. Regardless of the steroid controversy that doesn't help your hand eye coordination and hitting a baseball is not that easy.. Not even counting the fact of all his other stats his home run numbers alone should get him in there. People are against him cause he is a prick to reporters.

He used steroids. He cheated. He had an unfair advantage over other players. Cheating is cheating.
