For players who've actually made the majors, the weirdest place of birth is that of Ed Porray, who played a couple games for Buffalo of the Federal League in 1914. His place of birth is listed as "A Ship on the Atlantic Ocean".
Besides Porray, there have also been players born in Greece, Poland, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Indonesia, South Vietnam, the Canary Islands, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. I'll let you decide which is the weirdest.

Hawaii...they can care less about baseball. I had a friend in the military always calling during the season for updates. He says the locals don't really know what's going on in baseball. Ohhh..and the player I'm referring to would be Benny Agbayani.
