Personally I think anyone that'll spend 5 bucks or more for a cup of coffee,is a wee bit on the spoiled side!

Anyone that can spend that much on a cup of coffee per day could ALSO afford to help feed children in third world countries!

it is proof we buy into the hype. there are many independent coffee shops out there that have better coffee and are less expensive.

I personally don't drink coffee nor wish to, but my mom (canadian) is like a Starbucksaholic. She spends about twenty bucks every two weeks on it, i would guess. I don't see what's the big deal but for Canadians it's Starbucks AND Timmy's. (and you think americans are spoiled) Seriously, I go to both coffee shops because my sister wants to or I am spending time with my mom and it's ALWAYS crowded in there. I think I'll just put that money in my savings account and gain interest and eventually become a millionaire. Ha.
Sidenote, Tim Hortons isn't actually that expensive but it still amazes me how much society has become so caffiene addicted.

I think so too. We also got Starbucks here in the UK. I don't go to Starbucks over here since the prices are kind of high. I had some in the States and my favorite was this caramel thing but i forgot since i never thought about it. We can always go to the supermarket to get a good one for a lower price.. Too expensive.. You should be royalty to spend $5 on them.

Agreed on the poor children thing.. You can get a good one elsewhere, and spend the rest of the money to feed kids in third world countries.

My opinion is that I don't mind spending the amount of money for a good meal or a good coffee but Starbucks sucks.

You are right in some way. But it might have been smarter to have saved the $5 a day for 40 years and put that in mutual funds. You wouldn't have to worry about creditcard bills during your retirement.

it is true, though I admit every once in a while i pamper myself with a good latte. Usually I just get plain ol coffee which is under $2. The fact is there coffee is quite good.

I totally agree. I wont give them my money. Unless I am starving and they are the only shop around. Or maybe for hot cocoa that is it!

I agree. Coming from a gal with a gold tiara, however, makes me wonder on your intent.
