Not to be repetitive but it really is better to be safe than sorry. If you're taking a major exam, you don't want the scantrons inability to read your answer to weigh you down. If you really like the pencil, do all the work and scribbling with it but use a #2 for bubbling the answers in.

NOOOOOOOO! All the tests I've taken say Do Not Use Anything But A Number 2 Pencil Under Penalty Of Loss Of Life And Limb. OK, maybe not, but you get the idea. If the scanner can't read it, it marks all the questions wrong. Beg, borrow, or steal the kind of pencil they want you to use under the penalty of dismemberment (you get the point).

Honestly I have never seen a 2.5 pencil before. I suppose the lead would be thicker and come out darker, so no you cannot use it on the test. It would be too dark.

what the heck....2.5 pencils exist? i have seriously never heard of that before but now i'm going to start checking for them. that is so wierd! and when you take a test, your pencil should always be a NUMBER 2 PENCIL! well, so your teachers say so. i never listen.

i don't know. i have never seen a pencil other than number 2. the number refers to the softness of lead so it would probably be too soft or hard for the machine to detect. i wouldn't risk it.

2.5 pencils exist? WEIRD! If the graphite isn't too much softer, then you could probably get away with it. I wouldn't risk it if I didn't have to, though.

I have no clue buddy but you could ask someone like a teacher or something because they use them all the time on scantrons.
