We were hoping to go to a theme park near to london, i.e Thorpe Park or Chessington, but my mum doesnt want to go on the rides, can you enter the park without riding anything? such as Adventure Island in Southend. Thanks

call the park information and ask. I know some parks in the states will offer a discounted ticket to those you do not ride, this is usually the smaller parks where the attractions are mainly the rides, parks with alot of shows etc might not do this.

I've never heard of amusement parks offering lower ticket prices to those who can't or don't want to ride the rides (although it would be a great idea).

I would suggest looking for discount tickets online, through ebay, or just going to the park's website. Sometimes amusement park websites will offer ticket deals if you purchase your tickets ahead of time.

a lot big amusment parks will have cheaper tickets for people who don't go on rides but they are still pretty expensive. you can also pre-order tickets on-line to save money and get group rates. i visited the chessington and thorpe park websites i didn't see tickets for people that don't ride except to disabled/helper tickets.
