I thought that was only in the cartoons. I'm in the military and Imy 1st sergeant and commander cannot stop laughing at me!! I'm gonna put banana peels outside of their offices!!

I did the Commander (Grunt) thing many years ago, and of course I had a 1SG. It was the best privledge I ever had, leading American soldiers, everything since has been downhill. Top and the Ole Man are behind you, they respect you and want you to be part of them. They are bonding you to the unit. Anyway its a strange kind of humor called gas house humor. Some medical people develope it also by the way. You have to be in the situations you are or can be in as a soldier to understand it. When you have chosen a proffession where every day could possibly be your last or even worse your best freinds - something such as breaking an arm although serious enough just doesn't seem to concern many. As a matter of fact if you can get 20 years in like I did, and only have suffered a broken arm then that is a good thing. I think they know this, its a soldier thing and you are part of that great fraternity of the brave. The fact that it was a banana peel provides comic relief to what would otherwise be a stressfull event. Always remember wherever you are and whatever you are doing no matter how bad, never loose your sense of humor, for humor represents hope and good. Who in the Army with rapid deployments, family seperation, Iraq, Ahfghanistand and the the beginnings of discontent with the war - needs any more stress in their life. When I was in although most civilians / politicians seem to support us and said we are behind you and your great, yada yada yada - we still didn't trust them as we know, their opinions and views change as quickly as the wind changes. Anyhow you were OK, didn't suffer a serious injury, you will recover and Uncle Sam will make it right, so it has humor merit to it. Share humor with your battle buddies and give them hope and good.

Well that does suck, it sounds like something I would do! I am quite the klutz. Let them laugh at you but wait for your revenge. Don't use banana peel they might get hurt, come up with something like putting garlic hidden in their desk somewhere the kind in a jar. Tape it in different places where they can't see it just smell it and it will drive them nuts

Lol, I'm sorry. It sounds funny, but I am sorry you broke your arm. You could put banana peels outside their doors,, just dont get in trouble though =)

Was it in the bathtub? I heard a survey say that more people slip on banana peels in their tubs than die from shark attacks, and I'm like, "What were they doing eating bananas in their bathtubs, anyway? And what's a shark doing in there?"

Well sorry to hear they are ribbing you over the banana peel thing. They shouldn't be doing this but you will have to pretty much suck it up or laugh with them so they will get over themselves. They'll get tired of the fun after awhile, too bad they don't consider your hurt pride and humiliation over this.

lol its a commend thing to happend and for puttting peels outside there doors i wouldnt do that it will just get you into trouble with the commander and that will put you on his bad side. best of luck
