Chief Justice Earl Warren
His leading decision in the "Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka, Ks. brought an end to the bain of segregation in schools which cascaded over to other parts of society.
Martin Luther King Jr.
The bus boycott in Birmingham, Ala. which ended segregation on the buses was due to the forced compliance by the bus companies. This would have never happened if a nurse named Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man. After she was arrested, a young MLK Jr. formed a protest and from his pulpit influenced his congregation and others to not use the buses. The bus companies started losing money after over a year into the boycott. The companies relented. He was a powerful speaker. His "I Have a Dream" speech is looked as the most influential document of the last five decades.
Ronald Reagan
After Watergate and the resignation of President Nixon, the country was in a sort of malaise. The U.S. had lost the war in Vietnam and inflation was moving up. During the Carter administration, there was the oil embargo, the hostage situation in Iran, and the boycott of the Moscow Summer Olympics in 1980. Though American patriotism got a boost in the Winter Olympics at Lake Placid when the highly underrated U.S. Hockey Team defeated the once thought invincible Soviet Team in the semifinals. The eventual gold won by this same team would be short lived by the constant reminder of the 52 hostages held at the U.S. embassy in Tehran. When Ronald Reagan was elected and sworn in as President, little had any confidence that things would change for the better. They had good reasons. High inflation, high taxes, a recession, and some feared that Reagan’s cowboy diplomacy would lead us into a nuclear war with what many thought as the mighty Soviet Union. Something began to change in America. Ronaldus Magnus (to quote Rush Limbaugh) state of the union addresses did not dwell on how terrible our plight was, but that we had the ability to bring ourselves up out of the shambles that were the seventies and the Carter administration. Reagan showed humor and toughness when he was shot in an assassination attempt when quipped asking if the doctors and attendees doing the surgery were republicans. Of course the operation was a success and he recovered to serve two terms and left as the most popular president the nation ever had. During his two terms, America found its patriotism. Our recession ended. Oil prices dropped, much to the chagrin of the oil companies. Taxes were lowered which further stimulated the economy. To me, he was our greatest president of the 20th century. I could go on stating the positives of the Reagan era, but I would be here for days.

Unfortunatly, Hitler was probably one of the most influential person, but obviously a Negative influence rather than a positivly influetial person. He was extremely influential in the sense that his impact affected millions and millions of people worldwide and we are still seeing affects today. Areas like the middle east (the Israel Palastine conflicts trace back to post WWII with the creation of the Israeli state) is just one example. Racism in America was also greatly influenced by the Arian beliefs promoted by Hitler.

President Gordon B. Hinckley.
Under his leadership, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has grown by leaps and bounds. Our missionary effort has expanded into new areas, and we have seen more temples go up under his guidance then at any other time. If you know LDS people or are LDS, you know that temples are very sacred to us and required for our religious practices. So having so many readily available is a big deal to us.

Henry Ford who made inexpensive cars and built the first production line. It always amazes me that young people don't see the benefits of line work over individual production.
