Its possible..I had one before and the doctor told me its best to wait 3 months before you try to get pregnant again to give your body time to recuperate.

Although pregnancy is always a possiblity, it is still way too early for her to have gotten a period. I have had 2 miscarriages and I did not a have a period until after 7 or 8 weeks. Your body has to go through a lot of hormonal changes before it will go through a normal menstrual cycle. Although you know you're not pregnant after a miscarriage, your body does not until all of the hormones have stabilized at their pre-pregnancy levels.

First of all, I'm so sorry for your daughter's loss of her baby...and for your grandchild. With regard to the period...5 weeks is not something to worry about just yet. Her body has been through a lot, as well going through a lot emotionally (and stress can cause many problems with ovulation - which causes your period). So, give her some time and let her relax. She will start when her body is ready.
On the front of the moodiness...if I were you I would chalk that up to the miscarriage, with a combination of the pregnancy hormones (which can stay in your system in upwards of 6 weeks). I too lost a baby...at 16 1/2 weeks. This loss will be with her for always, whether she chooses to talk about it or not, or even outwardly show her emotions or not...and moodiness is part of that grief she will experience for quite a while.
Perhaps you should let her know about the group called SHARE. They are a nationwide pregnancy and infant loss awareness and support system. They have message boards to talk on, and tons of information. And by all means, if your daughter wants someone to talk to who has been in her shoes, send her my may! I'd be more than happy to be there for her to listen or talk! I know how if feels, and I know how talking to someone who has also experienced a loss is so much better to talking to someone who hasn't a lot of the time! Good luck and both of you will be in my thoughts!

It is very possible she can be pregnant again. I had a miscarriage before. One month later I got pregnant. Have your daughter do a home pregnancy test to be certain. And don't worry you can have a normal pregnancy after a miscarriage.

You are VERY fertile after a pregnancy/miscarriage! She needs to be very careful because her body isn't ready for this so soon. Explain the importance of protection, especialy now! I would have her take a test.

after a miscarriage (natural or provoked) the lining of the uterus gets fairly clean from debris, making it easier for a woman to get pregnant again, that's why as a safety measure the doctor tells you to wait at least 3 months.

IT IS POSSIBLE BUT NOT LIKELY BEFORE SHE COULD BECOME PREGNANT AGAIN HER HGP LEVELS WOULD HAVE TO BE ZERO. IF THEY ARE NOT THEN HER BODY WOULD NOT TAKE TO A FERTILIZED EGG BECAUSE THE BODY FOOLS IT SELF INTO THINKING IT IS PREGNANT. IT WOULD REALLY DEPEND ON HOW FAR ALONG SHE WAS BEFORE HER MISCARRIAGE. IF SHE WAS ONLY A FEW WEEKS HER BODY COULD HAVE RETURNED TO NORMAL LEVELS IN A FEW WEEKS. WHEN I HAD A MISSCARRIAGE AT 4MOS IT TOOK MY BODY AND LEVELS 2-3 MOS TO GET BACK TO NORMAL

It's not likely. It will take a little while for her body to get back to normal after losing a baby.
