Honestly, I do whatever is necessary in that situation. Sometimes fighting fire with water works, sometimes ignoring a problem doesn't help it go away, so I fight fire with fire. I'm not sure why some people are so against it, since, in some situations, it can be really helpful--or is the only way to solve the problem. You can't deny that. But I don't like the actual saying since fire plus fire causes a bigger fire and that's not necessarily true for some problems. Sometimes giving someone what they've given you helps and doesn't cause a bigger problem. And fighting fire with water does extinguish the problem (in this case, fire) but sometimes fighting it with water is just like putting gasoline on top of it. So, all in all, I'm not so much into that saying. It's too black and white for me, and I think we all need a little gray.

I think the fire is a matter of misunderstanding. I think you fight misunderstanding with knowledge and logic otherwise you make the fire worse. Yea i would much rather increase peace with water rather than feed the flame with more misunderstanding. However at some point the fire is necessary when the ratio of life and death are unbalanced.
