I just need to know what kind off batteries I can use to make it work. Is it the small cylinder shaped 3 volt battery?

You should be able to use it with two 1.5 volt batteries (2 x AA, or 2 x AAA). I have never heard of a three volt battery. The Double "A" and Triple "A" above will work as long as you use two of them. Cheers!

You could use the 3 volt battery but it won't last terribly long and would get expensive replacing them use two1.5 volt batteries depending on the size of the toy anywhere from AAA to D cells will work just remember to hook them up in series to get the three volts (the positive wire from the motor to positive terminal of first battery negative terminal of first battery to positive terminal of second battery and then negative terminal of second battery to negative wire of motor(think the way batteries are connected in a typical flashlight))
if you need more long gevity you can connect two sets of several batteries in parallel and then connect the two sets in series.

Two 1.5 Volt batteries would work. It doesn't matter if you use AAA, AA, C, D, etc. cells. The bigger ones will power it for a longer period of time.

If you go to Radio Shack, etc. you can find battery holders that will hold two batteries and will have two wires coming out of them that you can connect to the motor wires.

Have fun!
