When a diaper rash gets raised very red and may look like its spreading with little spots, wont go away after using traditional over the counter creams than most likely it is caused by yeast.
Go see your pediatrician and they can call you in a prescription. My ped. will call it in without a visit to the office, you should call and see what there policy is.
My oldest used to get a rash and they finally came to the conclusion that is was from some of the juices she was drinking. They can be acidic the combo of the urine with the juice and just coming into contact with her skin was enough to make her break out. Hope this helps and your baby's bottom is better soon!!!!!

Yeast usually looks red and pimply....and hurts a lot. Two of my children got this before and they needed a prescription for Nystatin. The over the counter cream that I found works best for a regular diaper rash is Johnson's Diaper Cream...but it won't work for yeast.

One mistake new parents make by no fault of their own is putting creams on rashes all this does is keep the rash hot and wet you want to dry it up, use cornstarch at the on set of rash, but if I was you Id get the doc to check out this one as it has been around for awhile.

It might be yeast, but its hard to say. Don't use corn starch until you find out for sure. This may sound strange, but if your baby does have a yeast problem try putting plain yogurt on the rash and let the area air out. Yogurt is known to kill yeast infections in adults also.

When my son was just a few days old he got a diaper rash. He was having diarrhea and throwing up. He was a mess. We figured out that he was allergic to his formula which started to help with everything, but before it was all over he ended up in the ER because of blood in his stool from a tear in his lil rear end and he was given Nystatin cream to clear the rash right up and it did.

If it is yeast you just use a yeast cream from the drug store. Buy the external cream for women OR jock itch cream (same stuff). Use a SMALL amount twice a day. IF it isn't improving at all in 36 hours it isn't yeast, then go to the doc.

Try otc anti fungal. It works like most perscription creams. (Some are stronger) Keep his bottom dry and expose it to air as much as possible. Make sure his skin is COMPLETELY dry before putting any creams on. This way you don't trap moisture underneath. If after 72 hours there is no improvement check w/ his doc, they may need to look at it.

My daughter had bad diaper rash and the creams werent working. we bathed her with a wash cloth and antibacterial soap and spred a blanket on the floor and let her air dry. let the baby lay without a diaper the air will help. My daughters went away in 2 days. I put her diaper back on at night but during the day I would leave it off.

It's probably yeast. Honestly, try monistat cream on it. I know it sounds weird, but if its yeast it will clear it right up in a few days. Powders, creams, and ointments will tend to make a yeast infection worse.

sounds like yeast. Change him frequently, don't let him sit wet long. Yeast loves moisture.
Go to the store and buy Triple Paste and apply it generously, it works great.
Do not use wipes on him right now just some warm water, the wipes aggravate it more.
