Hydrogen bonds occur when hydrogen is bonded to the highly electronegative elements of either Nitrogen, N, Oxygen,O or Flourine, F

As the only compound above which has either of these in the alcohol (number 3) this is the answer.


Hydrogen bonds occur in all alcohols as they all contail the functional group OH.

Hydrogen bonding usually only occurs when hydrogen is bonded with N, O, or F. In number 4, hydrogen is only bonded to carbon. In number 3, hydrogen is bonded with the oxygen at the end, and that is the h-bond!
