Should I believe that my answers are always wrong; or should I understand that many people on here are only interested in pushing their agenda, so I'm constantly disagreeing with the extremist from one side or the other?

The way I see it, you have to have touched a nerve to get a reaction. I take thumbs up and down as the same kind of applause

On this site I would not really worry about it
for some reason there does seem to be a great number of thumb throwing in both directions of late I have noticed
I would not try to answer the extreme questions if you are seriously worried about the thumbs thing--if not then keep your chin up and answer the way you think that they ought to be answered--that is what I do.
I agree with you on the matters that so many here are only interested in their own agenda or whatever it is..
Good luck..

Im not sure what you're talking about. I've looked at your previous answers and there's either no thumbs up or down, or its two up and two down....In the last few, you've had none that are just thumbs down. So, not sure what you're complaining about. However, it is a fact that if your opinion differs in the slightest, you will get a thumbs down.

Don't go putting down other people; you need to look at your answers and why they may be offensive. Are they well-thought out, clean, and logical answers? Do you put immature ranting in them, or have a filthy name? When there's a problem, always look first to see what you're doing wrong.

I do pretty well with thumbs up answers. You can see how many times I have had the best answer by moving your curser over my name. Answer truthfully on subjects you know a lot about and try humor. Good luck!!

Well... from what I've seen, Politics & Government seems to be a really heated area on yahoo answers. Everyone's got strong opinions and because they can't go 'OMG U SUK' in response to your opinion... they give you a thumbs down.

It's their only way of venting their frustation at not being able to disagree. :)

I would say that maybe when people are looking for answers to important questions they usually already have THEIR answer in mind. BUT on the other hand, maybe you're being negative about your responses. Maybe you are saying things that rub people the wrong way.

I thumbs down things that seem inappropriate to the asker. Not answers that are divergent from my beliefs. I have even deleted my answer if I'm the only one that has an answer like mine depending on the subject. Maybe you should re read your answers to see if they are disrespectful of the asker?

as you know thumbs down are a matter of peoples opinion. just as much as "best answers" are.

A little insight on why I give a thumbs down, I just don't agree with who ever answers, it doesn't mean anything except to me. Or maybe you if you take it seriously. But really it is just about peoples opinions nothing more nothing less, and you know about opinions, and arseholes, everybody's got one.
