As most you probably know, that Congress is trying to bring the troops home by the end of 2008.And President Bush says he will veto any bill that comes at him, that proposes any troop withdrawl.

So my Question is this:

Can congress over step the President in any actions in bringing our troops home?

Yes, but it would require a 2/3 majority vote in both the House and the Senate.

They won't get a 2/3 vote in either. It's more a symbolic gesture than something that will actually happen.

First of all neither the president or the congress know how to end this stupid RELIGIOUS battle because there really is no way to stop it. This war has actually been going on for a long time before Bush decided we needed to sniff it out a bit. For your question yes they could overstep him if they got enough pull.

The Iraq war is an Israeli lobby war. So far Israel want to keep the troops in Iraq forever.

They wouldn't dare de-fund the war, and if they did they'd be responsible for killing even more U.S. troops than the war actually does. You take away money, means you take away supplies (to include food, ammo, gear, everything).
