2 years so that we don't have to watch the pathetic & pointless battles between Dems & Republicans that will never be resolved because neither has enough power to win over the other? Could shutting down US Fed. Govt. for 2 years be any worse than what the current US govt is doing (& will continue to do)?

Sure. Bush can veto everything. Or Congress can refuse to pass any legislation or authorize any federal spending.

That's the impasse. Bush is threatening to be childish and hold is breath if Congress dares to exercise their authority under the Constitution, and the new Congress is not going to play lap dog to someone who willfully violates federal laws.

Well, April 17th is coming up fast. Why don't we American Citizens refuse to file our federal income taxes and refuse to pay the salaries of the government and see how fast they shut down? Do you think the corporations would pay their salaries if we the people refuse to give them our tax dollars? Do we all have enough guts to try it? How about if we establish an IRS trust that can't be touched without the vote of 2/3rds of the American People who are eligible to vote and put all our 2006 tax dollars into it? Do you think that would get them off dead center?
