I would suggest you get there about three or four hours early, that is if you are really desperate to get to the front straight away. You could even start at the back and work your way to the front. That's what I did when I went to see BFMV, I arrived there early but everyone had the same idea, so I ended up having to work my way to the front, through the mosh pit and all, which ended up getting me punched, which added some extra value to the evening, lol. But at the end of all that hassle getting to the front it was well worth it.
So even if you do get there early, there is not aways a guarantee that you will get to the front directly, but if you are small enough, you should manage to worm your way through to the front.

If it's at the Arena, and it's a popular event, you should get there about 1 hour before the start to get a decent spot.
Any earlier than that and you'll be pretty much on your own.
I've been to a few gigs there and most people hang about at the bars and food stalls before the gig.
If it's the Apollo, I'd say about the same.

Get there for the doors opening time and stand at the door there should be a queue forming . You may be standing in the queue for a while but it will be worth it. Once the doors open run like mad to the front, if you make the front you will get squashed as the night goes on but you can beat being up the front.

I would say it depends on the size of the standing room? In Hartford it wasn't that big..........I don't think it mattered much how early you get there. Regarless it was a pretty good view.

like, 3 days before it starts.. well, actually, like 5-6 hours early.. u should get pretty close to the front
