I have to say....isn't this just as much a stereotype as the question you are asking!! I don't think whites are thinking blacks need handouts.....drive down any busy freeway in PHOENIX and it is white folks I am seeing with the signs asking me for money on the exit ramps. These days I see way more white beggars....can't honestly say the last time I saw a black one!!
Questions like this, honestly, perpetuate the race issue. Each person should be treated as an individual without regard to color. That's how I operate, anyway!

What a racist question, not all white people act that way and I assure you there are some who are looking for handouts, just as there are some white people looking for handouts. Not all people act and think the same, just because they are the same color. I'm mostly Chinese, but I'm mixed equally with black and white as well and I can tell you behaviour is personal, not every group of people will act the same way.

It should be an equal playing field. Not all white people think that way. Some blacks want a hand out and whites do as well. No one should get a hand out everyone should have to work to get things.

The playing field is not equal it is slanted in favor of the blacks with special programs to get into schools and employment. Nobody makes blacks drop out of school, and have a zillion kids. You either make the grades or you don't do away with all the programs and then the field will be truly level. Before anyone gives me that crap about standardized test being culturally biased, why can I get a kid from Sweden and Japan, that have English as a second language and they pass with flying colors, often times out scoring white Americans.
The only people holding blacks down in 2007 are themselves, especially the ones that think they have to act like they are ghetto in order to be black.

Because some black people act as if the world owes them something, using slavery and past history as an excuse for their chips on their shoulders. Of course I believe all colors should have an equal playing field, but some blacks think that they are better than other races & act as if someone else has what they want then that means they were brought down. Believe me, I'm mixed latino & white, but i get dirty looks from especially the older black generation just because i'm lighter skinned & they give me nasty attitudes simply because they are mad at their lot in life. I'm working class but i get looked at as if i'm over priviledged.

White people for some reason have a need to systematically destroy the Black image. This has been carried out in many way including hiding the truth about Black history from African Americans.
Whites are ignorant not because they are White but Black history is hidden from them as well so they don't learn to respect Blacks because they think their history is all slavery.
Both White and Black read this one page below and get a feel how Blacks are denied the benefit of their past. It is not specific but implied just like many other hidden prejudices in the world.

I agree... A lot of white people do act that way.
I'm not defending them here, but I think it might be becasue a lot of black people are VERY angry about rights and equality... nobody like being on the receiving end of anger like that, so they get defensive and things get all messed up.

AMEN!! they see that blacks always need a helping hand because of how the media portrays us. NOT every black in america is struggling. just give us the benefit of the doubt and treat us equal. I thought we got over the whole blacks being 2/3 of a man back in the 1800's? i guess not :o(

And as a reminder, there are White homeless people out here begging for scraps too! So don't tilt your noses up to high! With all of the foreigners here in America, you White people can't actually say this is the America you once had now is it? Who's the minority if you put all of the people of color together? Don't get it twisted!
