It could also be a small crack in the head or head gasket. This usually makes itself noticeable when the car reaches normal running temperature. Inspect the exhaust after revving the engine for a while, make sure it's not spitting water out. Check the oil, make sure it's not white. Keep an eye on the water levels, if you have to keep putting more coolant in then it has to be going somewhere. It could be a very minor crack. Check the plugs to make sure it appears that they're burning right.

Sounds like the timing or the idle needs to be adjusted!
I would have a complete tune up done! If you're good on working on cars, try it yourself, but I would suggest a professional mechanic do it.
I had the same problem on my jeep and that fixed it!
Good luck.

Does sound like an idle issue. Assuming it's a carburetor, is your choke not opening up as the engine warms up? A bad vacuum leak could also cause this problem.

Sounds like a problem with the transmission. Check out the trans yourself and see what the problem is, but it is an expensive replacement part. Also check the belt, it could need replacing and is a lot cheaper.
