What about our strong presence in Iraq? Do you think the troops are ready to handle another war? Do you think the troops in training will be ready? Do we have funds for such an undertaking?

God forbid. The answer is neither simple nor easy to forecast.
At some point, if things continue down the path they are on, a military confrontation is in the offing.
I won't debate here the rights and wrongs of whether we should try to stop development of an atomic weapon or not.
The vast majority of the world community is strongly against it and that is enough said about it.
This is another theater of the war on islamic fascism that is escalating more and more.
If not Iran, then it will be somewhere else.
This war is generational in scope and there will be many fronts.
There is no such thing as a static anywhere in the universe. Things change and morph.
There will be Iran and others. The only question is how much do we really believe in freedom and liberty? Enough to fight for others to have those rights? I hope so, else our freedoms and liberties sound hallow at best.
Get used to the idea.

I don't think there will be an invasion of Iran by the US.
But the increased belligerence of Iran may cross the line. Their taking of the British Marines in Iraqi waters was an act of war, though a minor one. But they will push.
If they push too far, they will get a first hand view of what a "schock & awe" strategic bombing campaign looks like.
Why are they pushing? Because we stopped the strong talk and made indications we'd like to parley, that's why. They're viewing it as weakness.

War with Iran would only be the beginning of World War 3.

Well, our Navy, and Aircraft are already there, I say a full naval battle that rivals Midway. We would destroy everyone of their ships.
