Pats get:
Broncos 1st Rnder No. 21
Al Wilson and/or Broncos 2nd Rnder
Benfits? - Move up in the draft (more likely to land Reggie Nelson) and get either an All-Pro run stuffing ILB to supplement Bruschi and Vrabel (Al Wilson) or draft one..

Broncos get:
Pats 1st Rnder No. 24
Pats 1st Rnder No. 28
Benfits? - Two first round picks and lose Wilson's salary

For those that said it doesnt make sence..

Why not? Is one team getting more value than the other? Which team?

I think it's pretty even.. If anything the Broncos come out on top in this trade..

How can it be bad for BOTH teams.. That doesn't make sence.. I'm talking about trading draft picks.. There has to be a clear winner and loser..

I guess it depends on how you value Al Wilson..

If you think Wilson is worth a late 1st Round pick.. Which I do.. Then this deal makes sence..If you think it is worth more than a late first rounder than it doesn't really work for the Broncos.. Personally, I think this is a great deal for both teams.. The pats need a run stuffing LB and the Broncos are looking to gain draft picks and trade Al Wilson.. Win win..

This trade would definitely not be in favor of the Broncos. Al Wilson is the heart and soul of that defense; he would hard to replace, especially this year when the linebackers are not too strong in the draft.

The Patriots would benefit in the short term due to the fact that Wilson, Thomas, Bruschi, and Vrabel would be a scary linebacker combination. However, Wilson is not getting any younger, and with Bruschi and Vrabel due to retire in the next few years, New England might be better off to hang on to those first round picks.

So in the end, it really wouldn't benefit either team too much. However, if the Broncos are seriously looking at this year as a rebuilding year (they shouldn't because they can still contend for a championship) and want to unload salaries, this trade would benefit them 3 or 4 years down the road. As far as immediate impact, the edge goes to the Patriots.

Your idea gets Denver out from under Wilson salary cap hit BUT if Denver drafts two 1st round picks there goes the cap money they are saving by dumping Wilson (well maybe not all of it but a majority chunk). Is Wilson worth two late 1st round picks? Absolutely, the guy has been Pro Bowl like 6 of the 9 years he's played but the deal benefits the Pats far more than it benefits Denver. Shanahan won't do it.

The Pats would be insane to give up 2 first round picks. Why? Because they scout players better than any other team in the league. I actually think that your trade is somewhat close to even, but there's no way it would happen. The Pats are going to make 2 genius 1st round picks and they're going to win the Superbowl this year. And I'm a Chargers fan.

And if you don't know who Al Wilson is, then you don't know all that much about the NFL.

Denver has always produced good linebackers and Runing Backs...if Shanahan and Denver did this trade then they have a plan, plus DJ Williams is starting to play alot better so I think with the two 1st round picks they can pick up the players they need. Go Broncos

I wouldn't make the trade, unless Wilson is unhappy in Denver. Sure, I get 2 pics in the 1st round, but it's hard to replace a good ILB

alright the best deal is to the pats. it helps them to win this year. the broncos did good too to help there future. younger team. is that a done deal or just in the works? that is what the pats need, a S and LB. And if they get a 2nd rounder too, then they will get good value in the2nd w/ #56 since they traded #60 to miami.I think they would draft a OT in the 2nd round.

The Patriots would not be stupid enough to make that trade...The Broncos would benefit more...The Patriots are not going to give up 2 first round picks for that...Maybe if Cutler AND Plummer were involved, but oops...Plummer is retired and we Pats are fine with Matt Cassell backing up Brady...

Al Wilson is up in years now. We dont need any more veteren LB. Brusichi, Vrabel, and Colvin are old enough.

It all depends who they pickup, but why would you want two picks in the first round you have to pay them for being first round picks that is why the Patriots made the trade they don't pay rookies until they prove themselves.
