Jealousy can have a positive role. When we feel our relationships are being threatened, we tend to feel jealous which is a way of protecting it.

Obsessive jealousy then becomes negative. This is where the feelings of insecurity and low self esteem come into play. Then it becomes a problem unto itself.

Jealousy comes in many forms. And it tells a story much deeper than some random lame *** explanation for the behavior. Think about it: Would you be upset if your boyfriend was talking to another female while he was waiting for you to come out of the bathroom at the airport/restaurant/mall? You'll probably say it depends on the context of the conversation. And it does. If he's just talking to make conversation, there's no harm in that at all. If you suspect him of flirting, there's still no harm in that. If you see him groping her or kissing her, that might be an issue. If you'd be jealous about him flirting or talking to another female then you need to get your act together. If you're going to be up his *** every time he does that, then you two won't last very long. The guy is with you because he wants to be. When you start acting jealous, he doesn't want to be with you anymore. Especially if he's a real social kind of guy. You can't expect to lock up that kind of guy with jealousy and insecurity. What you should do is join the conversation casually and step off with your man in tow after saying your pleasantries to the other female. No catclawing.

It's a high sign of insecurity. not necessarily a lack of self esteem or confidence, think about it, most of the time the problem is with women being jealous of each other, being catty and unable to get along with one another. (I'll never understand it, women are supposed to be together in unity) They constantly compete against each other & it never ends. Men don't care, they only get jealous if there is a good reason for the most part.
