An ex friend Came in my house. I though she was here to see my son. No she thinks I neglect my cats, and she said that she was here to take them. She said she talked to me fiance and he said go ahead.... Well he never said anything to her. She took them to Angels for animals. I knew where she was taking them, so I called, and when they arrived I got a call. I was allowed to come pick them up. When I did the guy said they are in perfect health, and that if I didnt pick them up that day they were going to be put to sleep the next day. She knew that too.
Well two days later I get the Humane Society knocking on my door. He said that they got a complaint about my DOGS and Cats now. When he seen my dogs, he just shook his head, I showed him the cats, he said everything looked fine. I dont know if it was her or not. She is the only one that has a prob. with the way I take care of my animals. So i know it was her, But how to prove? She said that she doesnt want me to ahve any animals!

Thank you all for your answers. I have called the polie. They have a report. If she tries to contact me or anything it will be filed for harassment.

Don't let her bully you around, put your foot down. She doesn't need to be in your home or around your son for that matter. Try getting a step ahead of her and going to the court house and getting a restraining or a no contact order against her. I understand how you must feel. Sounds like she is trying to create problems for you. Does your son or your fiance' have any ties to her in anyway? Email me if you need to talk more.

YES

Contact the Humane Society and the local shelters in your area. Inform them of the issue and that you are being harassed. Offer to bring your animals in to the Society to be checked so there is a record of their good care. Make sure your animals are all properly tagged and have up to date shots. GET ALL YOUR ANIMALS CHIPPED!!! Vets and shelters will withhold on euthanization when a chip has been identified. Register your chips with the Society, Home Again, and AKC (regardless of pure breed status, AKC will register any chip.)

Keep a log of each instance, what was said, done, by whom, day, time, and as much other detail as you can think of. If she comes over again, have a neighbor witness the conversations if possible. Contact your local police department and ask under what conditions a trespass warrant can be issued.

I had a woman steal my tagged, chipped dog out of my yard several times. The system is set up to catch bad animal owners, but it creates a trail you can use to aid you if need be.

Good luck.

You need to call the police each and every time there is an issue with this woman. I hope you got the names of the people you spoke with at Angels for Animals (they were gonna kill 'em? some angels) and the animal control guy who came to your house. File reports and keep filing. The police will speak to her and hopefully she will keep quiet.

Why would you allow someone to come into your house and take your cats? That is nuts.

weirdo!!!! why doesn't she want you to have any animals? It is harassment but theres nothing you can really do. Mean, try calling the police but you let her take the cats and she only complained to the humane society. Just ignore her and if she keeps showing up at your house then get a restraining order and call the police.

You need to document everything that has happened. Dates and times. Any records you can obtain from Angels for Animals etc. File a police report.

This appears to be a form of malicious prosecution and false accusation where this person is accusing you of neglecting your animals and you are not. You apparently have several agencies that back you up who will state that your animals are not neglected.

Get an attorney and sue her. She will then be forced to turn the claim over to her homeowners insurance so they can provide a defense and the insurance co. will most likely settle with you.

Yikes! Seems like you need to lose a friend! I am not sure if it is harassment or not but it seems that she is stepping where she does not belong. She is picking on you :(
I have had a person that did some things like that before and I just didn't pay any attention to it, eventually she went away. Let her know your not playin' and leave it at that.
As far as proof, you probably won't be able to. Anonymous calls to the Humane Society have to be followed up on but she can only do it so many times before they catch on to it.
Hang tight, and good luck!

I would go directly-- do not pass go, do not collect $200hundred dollars--to the police and file a complaint.
Tell the detective sort of what you say here, be brief and specific. Example:: "She (ex-friend) comes onto my property without my permission, and stole my animals."
Try not to add details that aren't about her specific violation of your home, property
( animals), or her ongoing harassment.
There are laws to protect you from this kind of kook, and she sounds very unstable, so please be careful, and do something right away before she doesn't something even worse!

Does your police station have a non-emergency number?

I would call them & ask them what to do. This definitely seems like harassment but i don't know what could be done to bring it to an end. You can always try to get a restraining order to keep her away from you, but that won't keep her from calling the humane society & having people constantly come out to check out your pets.

Yes, that is unquestionably harassment. You should retain a lawyer. My guess is he'll have a restraining order issued. either way, I would do two things: first, don't let her on your property/in your house/apartment. Tell her to stay . And warn her that if there is any further harrassment, you will sue her. Believe me, you have grounds to win a settlement at least in the 5-figure range--more with a good lawyer, I think.

Well, you never should have allowed her to take the cats to begin with. Grow a spine and tell her to stay off your property.

Make a police report detailing the harassment. Be sure to include dates and times.

Obtain a restraining order to keep her away from your property.
