I was scared when I had my boy after having two girls and boy I can tell you their is a night and day difference between them! My girls were very laid back and relaxed and my boy is on the move 24/7. For me, my boy is a lot harder than my girls, but he was SOO much easier to potty train! My boy is an eating machine... and would eat me out of house and home if I let him...But on the flip side, my neice and nephew are the exact opposite. My nephew is laid back and my neice is h*ll on wheels! I guess their is no standard.... each child is unique and different! The only thing I will warn you with a boy though is watch out for those diaper changes! Can't tell you how many times I got peed on before I got it right! Consider him a lethal weapon until he is potty trained! Good luck and have fun!

I only have one child, a boy, but he is wonderful. When I was pregnant I wanted a girl so badly but I wouldn't trade my boy for anything. In my opinion, a boy is easier because they aren't as fussy as little girls. Plus, children seem to get along easier with their opposite sex parent, and my little boy dotes on me. I know my mom and I were always at each other's throats and I'm sure if I had had a girl it would end up the same. Personally I think boys are a little easier. I have no idea which sex eats more or less, boys probably eat more but I guess it depends on the baby. Just give him plenty of love and he'll turn out great.

I have three boys, so I can't really tell you if taking care of a girl is harder. Boys are louder than girls in just about everything they do. Boys eat a ton! Boys love their mama's. I think that in the long run they are easier to care for because they are pretty much satisfied with the same pair of jeans and shirt and you don't have to spend time fixing hair! Plus they stress less about the opposite sex, what is trendy and they are not as sensitive. I wish I had a daughter though! Congrats.

I have 4 younger siblings (2 boys, 2 girls). It seems like the differences depend mostly on the baby's personality, not so much on their gender. Except girls require more clothing than boys, it seems (even as little kids!). :) One of my brothers cried and screamed constantly; the other was the most easy-going baby you've ever seen. The girls in my family were actually probably the more easy-going (as babies, at least) of the two genders. My mom says I never cried, and I don't think my youngest sis did much of that, either. Girls do seem to be more attached to "safety objects" like pacifiers, blankies, sucking their thumb, etc. None of the baby boys I've known have done any of that, but all of the girls have. As long as their little kids, how much they eat depends more on the individual kid than on their gender. That all changes, of course, as soon as they reach puberty (a teenage boy will eat you out of house and home :). One thing's for sure: the saying that boys are more active than girls is a big myth. A lot of the most hyper, active, curious kids I've known have been girls.

I have two little girls. From what I've seen, boys are wilder and more physical. I continually watch the little boys on the playground or in the neighborhood and just shake my head, grateful for my girls.
As babies, my little ones weren't any fussier than any other baby. And both my girls are mama's girls. Daddy comes home, they get all excited, ten minutes later they're all over me again. But every child is an individual and you never know what you're going to get until you get it.

My son has been harder since his labor and delivery. Being the third, he was the hardest labor...28 hours, and a forceps birth. He never learned to sleep through the night and he is 4 1/2. He is more agressive, less affectionate, and more hyper. He is less whiney though, and I think that boys are probably easier than girls once they reach the teenage years...although my step-son has a major attitude problem. They are certainly a lot different that is for sure.

I don't know, I have two beautiful daughters. I'm really not the one to compare because they made it extremely easy for us as parents. They're 22 and 21 now, and we're still waiting for the proverbial s*** to hit the fan!
I would think in the beginning, at least, all is the same. Just love them all equally and the rest you'll figure out!
Congrats on your "little man", way to hang in there!
Good health to the 2 of you....well, actually, the SIX of you! lol

The only difference that I would expect is in changing the diaper. You need to watch out for the shower, baby boys have a habit of peeing when the cool air hits his warm body when you open the diaper.
