Look at the list of ingredients of the butter. If it says "paraben", "stereate" "glycol" "urea" and other things you cannot really pronounce, don't use it. Very few "butters" are pure ingredients and they will cause harm. Instead use an oil like olive oil, rosehip oil, avocado oil or grapeseed oil which are natural and respectful. I use pure rosehip oil on my entire face and it got rid of dryness, and grapeseed oil in the place of eye cream. Grapeseed prevents wrinkles. Pure coconut oil is also very good, so see your health store. Do you eat enough omega fatty acids? A lot of us don't, so while you are at the store, buy evening primrose oil, salmon oil or flaxseed oil and supplement daily.

If your moisturizer contains mineral oil, it's not going to give you any benefits. The molecular structure of mineral oil is actually too large to penetrate the pores of our skin. So, it sits on the top layer like saran wrap and gives us a false, temporary feeling of softness. What actually happens is, this allows dirt and debris to collect on our skin. Also, because it does not penetrate, it gets wiped off over time giving us little to no benefit. You need a great water based product to penetrate the dermis and deliver vitamins and minerals to deeply condition and hydrate our skin.

Yes it does help. You can use a stick of pure cocoa butter or try a lotion with cocoa and shea. That helps.
