Typically, the meth should be out of your system within 5 days... but because we're talking about the welfare of a baby, I'd wait *at least* a week.
Honestly... if you're going to choose meth, you should also choose formula for your baby's sake!
(Your milk will likely dry up during the week unless you pump & discard it anyway)
Meth just isn't something that responsible parents do.
You gave life to a precious baby... and your little one should take precedence over meth.
You need to stop using NOW... and put that baby first.

Check out the message board at the above website... there's also lots of other useful info there.
I hope you can find the strength to get & stay clean; life is worth so much more than you'll get if you choose this path.

If you're a former meth user and you've been clean for at least 30 days, then breast feeding should be fine.
If you're a current user, then you should not breastfeed. Meth has a very long half-life in the blood, and it will be passed through breast milk to the child. If you are currently using meth I very very strongly encourage you to seek help. Chances are that you are addicted and will not be able to quit without some type of professional help. Over 50% of children who live with a meth user test positive for the drug--even when the drug isn't being used directly around them (residue on the user).

I could go on and on all day on how bad meth is for you. You have no business even having a child if you do or have done meth. As far as I am concerned, you should not ever breast feed for the safety of the child. Are you out of your gourd doing that s-h-i-t??!!

You shouldn't be caring for a baby while using meth. You need help and the baby needs to be put with a responsible person who can take care of him/her.
But to answer your question, please do not breastfeed. Take some of your meth money and buy the baby some good formula.
And please get help.

WHAT? You were on meth? Do the baby a favor and give him or her a bottle! Don't even bother about breast feeding! Are you nuts? Just go to your doctor and ask! I'm done! Because you have lost your damn mind just considering the sh!t!

Does this mean you used methamphetamine when you were pregnant?
My question is why did you use meth? Don't you know what it can do to you, not to mention your child? Save yourself and get help - and have your baby checked out as well.

Never, you shouldn't even have children if you're doing meth. I'm assuming this is some sick joke.

You should not even be blessed with a child! You are a horrible mother- think about what that done to your child while you were pregnant! How can you use something like that when you are supposed to be a good mother to your child?
