Because their lives are obviously not as exciting as others.

I don't know what you are doing that they are nose about so this may not apply. But if you are having a cook out or something, why not invite them. They may be lonely.
Sometimes it's out of concern that people are nose, they hear shouting or arguing and want to make sure everything is safe. I have nose neighbors. They call me when there's been a stranger near the house, or I've left my car lights on, a window is broken, etc. If it's something I already know about, I thank them anyway. I love it. If they see something they 'shouldn't have' it's because I was doing something in public that I 'shouldn't have.' It happens, life goes on.

Yeah I think everyone has atleast one nosey neighbor, they are either retired people who are bored. Or their young broke High school or college students that have nothing better to do. Atleast that's my experience. Maybe your interesting to them because you have a life and they don't.

You need to discourage some people from this kind of behavior because they weren't taught to mind their own business as children. If they stare at you, stare back. If this isn't enough to get the message across, you may have to come right out and tell them to mind their own damn business. But whatever you do, don't hesitate to make the point and make it as forcefully as needed to make sure they understand, or you will get no peace.

They are trying to get your attention,it has worked.When you see them being nosy just stare back at them.When it comes to nosy neighbors the only time that you can appreciate them is if your house gets broken into....I been there done that.

i'm a nosy neighbor, but only because they are all out side talking very loud about whatever it is they are talking about. if you don't want people in your business stay in the house where no one can here you. but on the other hand the nosy neighbors that know more about anything else and every one else but you, they have no life!!! they will be all up in yours, but if something happens they be the first to say "oh! that's none of my business child!!!" or "i don't get in no one elses business around here". but they still can tell you about every one
