I've had my nose pierced since April '06. It never was infected, and it's not now. It just smells sometimes, especially when I move it. it's a totally normal piercing - but smells like dead flesh sometimes. It's completely healed. But sometimes I get that "what's that smell" thought running through my head.

Should I clean it with something?

I've experienced that too and what I do is rinse it with an aftercare piercing solution or just water. Better not to rinse it with soap or hydrogen peroxide, since it can cause dryness. Don't worry about the smell too much since the smell might be coming from the part of the piercing inside your nose, where all the bacteria, mucus, etc are accumulating. If you can safely clean out that area without causing too much irritation to the piercing that is great.

For me it's a little difficult because mine's a little infected and has always been a little bump or the other even after medication. So I'm used to always staying on the safe side and always prioritizing my piercings safety.

That's probably exactly what it is - dead skin. Your skin is constantly flaking off as it dies, to make room for the new skin underneath. Yea, it's kind of gross. Anyway, the ring is probably preventing the skin from falling away, and it gets caught. Wash the piercing when you wash your face, or when your in the shower, just to keep it clean. If it's healed completely like you said, you should be able to use any kind of soap that doesn't normally irritate your skin.

I'd think it could also be a buildup of dirt and gunk too that's causing the smell. I know that sometimes happens to my pierced ear holes and I have to take out the earings and squeeze the gunk out - gross, but it works.

pierce in your earlobes for earrings need to be cleaned with alcohol and dried well after bathing. any piercing in the body needs to be treated the same way. the "cheese-like" smell comes from accumulated sweat and dirt trapped in the hole.

Well I have each each. A nostril ring does not harm as unhealthy even as cure. A tongue ring makes your tongue swell for like three-four days, and you're slightly in a position to consume. A nostril ring best took approximately an afternoon one million/two for the minor discomfort to depart from my nostril. I in my view just like the nostril ring greater. But tongue earrings are well additionally.

Use H2Ocean piercing spray. You can find it at any tattoo/piercing parlor. It cleans away any bacteria and gets rid of the smell. I use it on ALL of my piercings.
