I have a wicker love seat that I would like to have outside. Can I paint/spray it with something so it can be outside?

You can seal it with a non-yellowing polyurethane, like Varathane, but I really suggest purchasing a cover for it during inclimate weather. Wicker is very porous and you will not be able to totally seal it which means moisture can get into the weave. This will cause mildew and the integrity of the wicker to diminsh over time. Mine literally started unweaving on the legs where it was getting wet from the automatic sprinklers overspray. I thought it was well sealed with 5 coats of polyurethane, but it still started to mildew underneath the seat and arms. After cleaning and fixing it, I keep a cover over it when it is not being used to protect it.

You can seal it with any polyurethane, but don't leave it out in rain, because wicker has so many nooks and crannies that you will never be ble to cover it all, so it will rot a lot sooner than wicker that was treated before it was woven.

Just paint it or polyurethane it ether way I’d go with at least two coats, three would be best.
