If we take our best fighter from any background (UFC, boxing, martial arts) and pit that fighter in a cage against a fully grown, 800 lbs male lion, who would come out on top?
Again this is our best human fighter against an average 800 lb male lion.

*Update* An average male lion weighs around 550 lbs, the largest captive lion weighed in at 806 lbs.
So to update the question, our best human fighter against an average male lion (550 lbs).

If we put someone like Chuck Liddell in the ring with your lion, assuming Chuck had no weapons, I think the lion would make short work of Chuck and maul him in seconds.
A lion that is 550 lbs., is one bad *** animal.

Thats not a fair fight. The Lion has 3 inch teeth (razor sharp and claws 5-6 inches long) YOu need to give the best fighter in the world at least 2 6 inch daggers. Now if you did this I think the best Human could possibly win..

no way all the lion has to do is fall on the fighter and the lion probably has more stanima so unless the fighter has some kind of wepon

It doesn't take a good fighter. You just have to outsmart the lion. gouge its eyes out or do something else that would cause him pain or suffering I would think. Use intelligence.

if none of them had any wepons the lion would win its to hard to strangle a lion or choke it
